Description of the institution
The International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) was founded in 2012 by Harvard Business School, the Karolinska Institutet and the Boston Consulting Group. ICHOM’s mission is to unlock the potential of value-based health care by defining global Standard Sets of outcome measures that really matter to patients, for the most relevant medical conditions and by driving adoption and reporting of these measures worldwide.
ICHOM is a non-for-profit under 501(c)3 regulations and our efforts have been focused in enabling health care institutions around the world to undertake this journey toward routine outcomes measurement. Indeed, many around the world are already measuring outcomes, and we have taken it upon ourselves to disseminate key learnings from these institutions to others who wish to do the same. To date, ICHOM has been supporting the implementation of value-based health care and outcome measurement in more than 30 countries, 600 organisations and 15 national registries around the world.
ICHOM is participating in WP4 (Ethics, safety, and patient reported outcome measurement) and WP7 (Dissemination, transfer, scientific data pooling and sharing).
